About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Oncology team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, develop, and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to hospital policy and protocols.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to non-licensed staff as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on care and treatment options.
  • Facilitate discharge planning and ensure a smooth transition of care.
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in an acute care setting is preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Chemotherapy Administration Certificate is preferred, but courses are offered at the facility

Our services include a nationally accredited oncology program, advanced trauma care, full-service maternity and newborn care, and two full-service emergency centers. We are affiliated with the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery and offer advanced robotic services for various specialties.
