Clinical Oncology Nurse

Texas Oncology is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinic environment. This full-time position will involve working with patients in the Clinic, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Infusion Departments at our San Antonio location.
This is a Monday-Friday role with no weekends, call, or major holidays. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain oncology knowledge and unique skills in a collaborative clinic setting.

As a Clinic Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. You will assess health status, provide teaching and instructional material, and facilitate clinical operations and patient care. You will also manage patient medication refill requests, facilitate consultations and appointments, and triage patient phone calls.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in professional nursing education, a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, and current RN state licensure. You will also need to have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities:
Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding their current status and medical history.
Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
Assist patients in locating available community resources.
Inter professional collaboration.
Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate. Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
