Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the development of our surgical oncology program.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop, evaluate, and revise plans of care to meet patient needs and goals
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient care, including education and support
  • Facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in an acute care setting - preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - preferred
  • Chemotherapy Administration Certificate - Preferred
