Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Designer/Senior Store Designer to join our team at Abercrombie & Fitch Co. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing store designs that align with our brand identity and enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the planning and implementation of global real estate projects through store design, including new stores, existing fleet remodels, and closures.
  • Design effective store layouts that optimize space utilization and adapt store prototypes to various site conditions and locations.
  • Coordinate end-to-end project workflow, meeting project deadlines, including feasibility studies, proposed store planning, and approved store implementation.
  • Project manage design budget and pre-construction process, supervising architects, engineers, external vendors, and permit execution to ensure key project milestones are met efficiently and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external partners to facilitate the implementation of store designs.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, select renderings, shop drawings, and landlord documentation, as needed.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Retail Design, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of work experience in retail design or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch-up, or similar.
  • Knowledge of general domestic and international code restrictions.
  • Understanding of constructability.
  • Strong understanding of retail design principles, visual merchandising, and customer behavior.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Organized, with the ability to prioritize and forecast into challenges and/or opportunities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a team of diverse business partners.
  • Creative thinker, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Energetic, positive, creative problem solver, with a solution-based outlook.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and drive results.
