We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join our team at System One. As a key member of our transportation practice, you will be responsible for leading bridge design projects and collaborating with our team to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Lead bridge design projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements.
- Develop and manage project teams to execute specific phases or aspects of projects, including technical studies, project design, and project inspection.
- Review and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases, ensuring that projects meet quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and develop proposals to meet their needs.
- Direct the inspection of construction sites to monitor progress and ensure general conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
- Plan and execute project meetings, negotiate with clients, and maintain liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Over 10 years of experience in civil/structural design, rehabilitation, and evaluation of bridges, including preparation of load ratings, construction documents, specifications, and estimates.
- Ohio Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within six months.
- Strong experience with structural/bridge design process through application of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications requirements.
- Demonstrated track record of providing project management and senior structural engineering design services for the successful completion of bridge projects.
- Established working relationship and credibility with ODOT bridge design staff.
- Strong background in the design of bridges for ODOT and other local transportation agencies.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and experience with engineering design packages such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, AASHTO BrR, LEAP Bridge, and LARSA.
- Master's degree (MCE/MSCE) in Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Class I railroad bridge design experience and knowledge of the AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering.
- Design-Build experience.
