Senior Practical Nursing Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for medical evaluations by ensuring all necessary documentation is organized.
- Collect and process biological samples, including blood and urine, for laboratory analysis.
- Monitor and document vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
- Schedule follow-up appointments for patients and address routine inquiries from patients and their families.
- Compile and maintain comprehensive laboratory reports and patient records.
- Under the supervision of medical professionals, administer prescribed medications to patients.
- Oversee and assess the performance of support staff, including Clinic Clerks and Medical Assistants, while serving as a lead when necessary.
- Execute various tasks essential to the successful operation of the role.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program,
AND:
- A minimum of 24 months of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient understanding of diagnostic and treatment methodologies, including treatment options, medication properties, and preventive healthcare practices.
- Familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Strong listening skills with the ability to comprehend and respond appropriately to discussions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to interact with colleagues, physicians, visitors, and patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Resilience in high-pressure situations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Compassionate approach to patient care.
- Leadership skills to mentor and guide fellow Licensed Practical Nurses.
Certifications Required:
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in the State of Oklahoma.
- Registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, manual dexterity, effective communication, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
