Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for medical evaluations by ensuring all necessary documentation is organized.
  • Collect and process biological samples, including blood and urine, for laboratory analysis.
  • Monitor and document vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for patients and address routine inquiries from patients and their families.
  • Compile and maintain comprehensive laboratory reports and patient records.
  • Under the supervision of medical professionals, administer prescribed medications to patients.
  • Oversee and assess the performance of support staff, including Clinic Clerks and Medical Assistants, while serving as a lead when necessary.
  • Execute various tasks essential to the successful operation of the role.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program,

AND:

  • A minimum of 24 months of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of diagnostic and treatment methodologies, including treatment options, medication properties, and preventive healthcare practices.
  • Familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to comprehend and respond appropriately to discussions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to interact with colleagues, physicians, visitors, and patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Resilience in high-pressure situations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Leadership skills to mentor and guide fellow Licensed Practical Nurses.

Certifications Required:

  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, manual dexterity, effective communication, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
