Job Overview

Position: Quality Assurance Engineer

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (One day onsite)

Grant Leading Technology is in search of a qualified Quality Assurance Engineer to enhance our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, documenting, and executing test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios based on software requirements, while collaborating with business process analysis and customer-driven change requests. This role requires leveraging testing expertise to inform the Test Lead/Manager about the status of testing activities. The Quality Assurance Engineer will also design, develop, and implement automated tests within a system acceptance testing (SAT) environment. Responsibilities include automated execution, result reporting, test data management, and establishing standard operating procedures. The position is primarily remote, with a requirement to be onsite one day a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document and execute test cases effectively.
  • Ensure compliance of systems and enterprise capabilities with established requirements and standards through formal verification methods.
  • Evaluate performance using established criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Analyze test results and prepare evaluation reports and risk assessments.
  • Review discrepancy reports and conduct integration testing to validate fixes impacting systems and enterprise capabilities.
  • Provide direct support to customers for system integration, testing, evaluation, and transition activities.
  • Independently develop and execute test scripts to guarantee quality software for production release and to validate system changes.
  • Create comprehensive test plan documents and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain test control databases.
  • Conduct solution testing to confirm business requirements.
  • Ensure the integrity and currency of test databases.
  • Facilitate the distribution of test data from the control database to development teams for adequate unit testing.
  • Compile, document, and execute automated test scripts and procedures.
  • Conduct regression testing.
  • Perform manual testing as required.
  • Track and manage the status of defects.
  • Provide quality assurance testing for all systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Assist in the rollout of systems documentation.
  • Generate lists of defects for resolution and incorporation into future application releases.
  • Communicate effectively with analysts and programmers regarding formal testing plans, issues, and outcomes.
  • Develop technical documentation and reports.
  • Oversee the Release Management process for all changes to the baseline IT infrastructure, ensuring adherence to procedures throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of existing processes, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related fields (additional years of experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Over four years of relevant experience in the IT sector.
  • Three years of experience in software testing.
  • Able to identify and communicate program risks with recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Cisco contact center applications is advantageous.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Possession of Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance is preferred.
  • Experience with IRS applications such as MeF, ITPE, RRP, BDOC, BMFERS, GUF, Notices, IMF, BMF, and CADE2 is a significant advantage.
  • Additional Desired Skills include:
    • Knowledge of current IRS tax administration software applications.
    • Experience with Rational CLM tools (Quality Manager, Team Concert, Doors Next Generation).
    • Familiarity with IBM Mainframe technologies.
    • Proficiency in IBM Time Share Option (TSO) and related skills.
    • Experience with Control-M.
    • Knowledge of Unisys Mainframe.
    • Experience with DB2.
    • Familiarity with Informatica Business Objects.
    • Proficiency in Java, SQL, and XML.
    • Experience in automation is a plus.
    • Familiarity with TOAD is beneficial.
