Job Summary

Luminis Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing CT imaging procedures on all age groups in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Radiographic Procedures: Conduct routine radiographic procedures and special computerized tomography procedures consistent with established quality standards and the need of the patient.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform daily quality assurance testing on CT unit and emergency equipment and maintain appropriate records as required by department procedure.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Confer with the supervisor to report problems relative to equipment, staffing, and productivity and make recommendations related to them.
  • Patient Care: Obtain pertinent clinical data prior to diagnostic examination, supervise the preparation of patients, and record significant data. Appropriately prioritize patients in workflow. Provide care for physically and mentally compromised patients.
  • Efficient Patient Flow: Ensure efficient patient flow through scanner area through effective scheduling and assignment of responsibility.
  • Supply Management: Ensure appropriate storage and routing of supplies in the CT area; monitor supplies and report shortages as required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain daily activities log and procedures manual, comply data and issues monthly report as required.
  • Training and Development: Participate in orientation, on-the-job training, and in-service activities as requested; demonstrate CT equipment and procedures as requested.
  • Interventional Procedures: Assist the physician in performing interventional CT procedures. Assist physician in emergency situations and adverse contrast reactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in orientation of new personnel and development on in-services and cross-training programs consistent with performance objectives and training needs of employees.
Requirements
  • Education: Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program in AMA-approved educational institution.
  • License/Certifications: Current State of Maryland licensure, Current certification in radiography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Current CPR certification, and ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification.
Working Conditions

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands – Heavy: Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
