Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Intensive Care Unit team at Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii. As a Veterinary Technician in ER/ICU, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our board-certified specialists and emergency professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients and manage clients throughout their visit
- Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize radiology imaging for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
- Provide outstanding client care to maintain long-term relationships
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain professional composure in a high-performance culture
- Knowledgeable of and able to operate patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipment
- Ability to accurately calculate volumes and rates of medications and other treatments
- 2 years' experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice or 1 year in a specialty practice
