Veterinary Technician, ER and ICU, Daytime Weekends

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Intensive Care Unit team at Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii. As a Veterinary Technician in ER/ICU, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dedicated team of board-certified specialists and emergency professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Triage incoming patients and manage client relationships throughout their visit
- Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, including catheter placement
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize radiology imaging modalities for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
- Provide exceptional client care to foster long-term relationships
This role is a daytime position on weekends, from 7am-7pm.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician with:
Effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skills, with a strong sense of personal accountabilityThe ability to maintain a professional composure and positive attitude in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of and ability to operate patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipmentBasic math skills to accurately calculate medication volumes and ratesMinimum Qualifications:
- 2 years' experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice and/or 1 year in a specialty practice
