Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Intensive Care Unit team at Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center of Hawaii. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting our board-certified specialists and emergency professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients and manage client relationships throughout their visit
- Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize radiology imaging modalities for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
- Provide exceptional client care to maintain long-term relationships
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven track record of personal accountability
- Ability to maintain a professional composure and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledgeable of and able to effectively operate patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipment
- Ability to accurately calculate medication volumes and rates
- 2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice or 1 year in a specialty practice
