Position Overview

As a Senior Coffee Specialist, you play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience by sharing your enthusiasm and expertise in the café environment. Acting as a key support to the café manager, you will mentor, motivate, and cultivate a space where baristas can thrive and develop their skills. Your leadership will drive the team to meet service standards while achieving sales targets and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate exemplary customer service by modeling friendly and personalized interactions, setting a standard for your team.
  2. Maintain a welcoming café atmosphere with well-presented merchandise and a team that greets every customer warmly.
  3. Understand customer preferences and provide insightful recommendations to enhance their experience.
  4. Contribute to positive sales outcomes through effective inventory management and a clear understanding of operational metrics.
  5. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to fellow baristas, collaborating with the café manager to identify growth opportunities.
  6. Efficiently resolve issues while supporting team members by removing barriers to success.
  7. Engage customers through innovative sales initiatives, including product sampling and promotions.
  8. Assist in maintaining visual merchandising standards in alignment with company guidelines.
  9. Ensure compliance with operational standards, health, and safety regulations.
  10. Safeguard company assets by adhering to loss prevention protocols.
  11. Foster a collaborative team environment by communicating openly and providing respectful accountability.
  12. Perform physical tasks associated with café operations, including standing for extended periods and operating equipment.

Qualifications

  1. Comprehensive understanding of café operations and profitability.
  2. Proven ability to deliver exceptional service standards.
  3. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  4. Experience in training and developing team members.
  5. Effective organizational and time management skills.
  6. Excellent communication skills, fostering collaboration among team members.
  7. Prior experience in a senior barista or similar role is preferred.
