Job Summary:

OGX Productions is seeking a Senior Team Lead to assist with Front-Line supervision of its Food and Beverage Operations at the NYC Flagship location. Our Central Perk café is a real-life reproduction of the FRIENDS™ tv series coffee shop, dedicated to providing excellent coffee, delicious pastries, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all our Guests.

The Food Services Senior Team Lead will be responsible for providing support overseeing the daily operations of our café with the oversight of assigned shifts, training, and development of Team Members, in addition to ensuring the delivery of exceptional Guest experience.  The ideal candidate will have previous barista knowledge, supervisory experience within the Hospitality industry, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to customer service.

This full-time position pays $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Team Leadership:
    • Member of the MOD (Manager on Duty) rotation
    • Oversee the daily operations of the coffee shop for the duration of assigned shifts
    • Lead and motivate the team to ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction
    • Train, mentor, and support new and existing Team Members
    • Assess the effectiveness of the team and provide feedback to management
  • Guest Service:
    • Ensure all Guests receive exceptional service and positive interactions
    • Address Guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally
    • Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the café
    • Handle cash transactions and fulfill orders
  • Café Operations Management:
    • Ensure the café is clean, well-organized, and properly stocked at all times
    • Maintain equipment and ensure it is in proper working order
    • Oversee café inventories
    • Timely communication with management of ordering needs
    • Additional duties as assigned
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
    • Maintain high standards for coffee and food preparation
    • Assist with supervision to ensure product consistency is maintained

Requirements:

  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Must possess a valid NYS food handlers certificate
  • Must be able to remain in a standing, stationary position more than 75% of the time
  • Must be able to frequently move food service inventory and equipment weighing up to 50
  • pounds
  • Must be able to move about inside the retail coffee shop space
  • Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Your Experience:

  • 2 years of experience as a supervisor or Head Barista in a coffee shop, café, or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods and manually operated espresso machines
  • High school diploma (or its equivalent), some college is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Basic understanding of financial management and budgeting
