Role Overview
The Senior Coffee Operations Leader at Blank Street, UK will spearhead the training and development of our barista team during new store openings and operational recovery. You are a passionate coffee enthusiast with a strong desire to mentor and uplift those around you. Your efforts will enhance the skills of our barista team, ensuring consistent quality and exceptional customer experiences across all Blank Street locations.
Your primary responsibilities will include facilitating new store openings and overseeing daily operations. You will play a crucial role in our company's rapid expansion, ensuring that every team member is equipped to serve a curated menu with enthusiasm and precision. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who takes pride in delivering outstanding service and inspiring their team to do the same. You thrive in dynamic environments, possess excellent organizational skills, and can maintain composure under pressure.
You will represent the brand at each opening, serving as the first point of contact for customers discovering Blank Street.
Key Responsibilities
- Devote the majority of your time to in-field training, working closely with Service Pros and Baristas to enhance the speed and quality of service.
- Ensure successful training and quality control during the opening week, focusing on service steps and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Lead the bar during new store openings to guarantee that customers receive the highest level of service.
- Implement a comprehensive tracking process for all staff, providing detailed feedback to the training team at specified intervals.
- Train new hires post-training lab, updating the broader training team on their progress.
- Act as a mentor and support system for all staff as they acclimate to Blank Street.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to ensure smooth store operations.
- Revitalize existing stores that may require a refresh.
- Drive new store opening training and support initiatives.
- Be open to traveling for short periods as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in training and supporting new store openings.
- At least 2 years of barista experience or expertise in the coffee industry.
- Aspiring leader and mentor with a passion for sharing knowledge.
- Detail-oriented and solution-focused.
- Consistently demonstrate exceptional hospitality.
- Comfortable providing guidance and feedback to baristas.
- Act as a brand ambassador in new neighborhoods.
