Position Overview:

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of patient care delivered by nursing staff through effective orientation programs, continuous competency assessments, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate professional growth opportunities and mentorship for nursing personnel at all levels, aiding in the realization of their personal and professional aspirations.
  • Assess educational outcomes based on feedback from learners and stakeholders, as well as evidence-based practices, regulatory standards, and organizational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing combined with a Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment or possession of a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • AHA BLS certification prior to the conclusion of the orientation period.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a registered nurse.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in teaching roles.
  • AHA Instructor Certification.
  • Clinical Certification and Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC preferred).
