Manufacturing Planner and Scheduler

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Production Scheduling Specialist to effectively manage production operations in alignment with demand and quality benchmarks. Your role will be crucial in ensuring timely delivery of our products for distribution while maintaining profitability. A successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of production methodologies and optimization techniques, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production timetable and generate necessary reports.
- Engage with various teams to facilitate the flow of materials and documentation, ensuring adherence to production timelines and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with shop floor leadership on a daily basis to address challenges related to manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinate production activities across multiple product lines.
- Strategically plan and prioritize operations to maximize output and minimize delays.
- Assess workforce, machinery, and materials required to meet production targets.
- Adjust shift schedules based on production requirements; monitor tasks to guarantee timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Proactively resolve issues to minimize disruptions.
- Compile and present status updates and performance metrics.
- Maintain organized documentation.
- Work closely with quality assurance, warehousing, procurement, and other departments.
- Integrate quality into all processes, ensuring alignment with quality objectives and awareness of current versus target quality levels.
- Set and achieve departmental and organizational goals; propose enhancements in cost efficiency, processes, quality, and productivity.
- Manage on-site supplier interactions.
- Engage in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma is mandatory; an Associate degree is preferred along with relevant experience in production planning.
- Comprehensive understanding of production planning and quality assurance principles.
- Experience with MRP II (Manufacturing Resource Planning) systems.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems, with a preference for SAP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Projects.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive demeanor and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Capacity to work autonomously and complete assignments within established guidelines and accepted practices.
