Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Brandywine Senior Living. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing all dining menus, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of menu designs, innovations, and signature programs to enhance the dining experience.
  • Coordinate and direct all food preparation and delivery, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Support and manage the Sous-Chefs, delegating tasks and monitoring progress throughout the day.
  • Monitor the quality of all food, plate presentation, and beverage preparation, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Track, record, and maintain inventory stock, including foods, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
  • Research and implement new culinary trends, staying up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Comply with all federal and state regulations pertaining to food handling and production, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Ensure menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for managing and supervising the dining services staff in the absence of the Director.
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels, including resident and food council feedback.
  • Delegate tasks to all team members to maintain kitchen areas at the highest levels of cleanliness and quality.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute special events, banquets, and themed meals, working closely with the Director of Community Relations and community team members.
  • Support the Director of Dining Services to ensure that the kitchen and dining team members understand company expectations and first impression requirements.
  • Assure compliance with county, state, and federal regulations affecting the department.
Requirements
  • 2-year Culinary Arts degree and/or other culinary certification required.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required.
  • Vast knowledge in culinary arts, including up-and-coming food trends.
  • Effective and clear communicator.
  • Expert skills and experience planning, designing, and preparing meals.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership and creative abilities inside the kitchen.
  • Expert problem solver who thrives under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food sanitation regulations.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
  • Comfortable providing direction and supervision to kitchen team members.
