Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Accountant role offers a unique opportunity to learn and advance within a dynamic, financially robust family business. This position will involve a diverse range of accounting, operational, and administrative responsibilities. Our aim is to equip the selected candidate with a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations, fostering their development into a well-rounded business professional rather than just an accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting tasks to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Conduct research, prepare, and input journal entries for various operating entities and partnerships.
  • Perform account analysis for multiple entities and partnerships.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Prepare necessary monthly and quarterly state and local filings and reports.
  • Analyze, prepare, and review reconciliations for bank and inter-company accounts.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports and conduct operational analyses for divisions and affiliated companies.
  • Handle monthly sales and use tax and annual business privilege tax filings as required.
  • Oversee vehicle registration and licensing for the company’s fleet of trucks and equipment.
  • Audit and review information from divisions and affiliates to ensure compliance with requirements in a timely manner.
  • Manage specialty billing and reporting tasks for operating entities.
  • Collaborate with division and corporate staff to identify, implement, and enhance processes and internal controls.
  • Monitor insurance and workers' compensation expenses.
  • Provide support during annual audits as needed.
  • Maintain necessary files and records.
  • Engage in special projects and additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in public or private accounting; manufacturing experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly organized and motivated, with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software is advantageous.
