Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Accountant role offers a unique opportunity to develop within a dynamic and financially robust family-run organization. This position will involve a diverse range of accounting, operational, and administrative responsibilities. Our aim is to equip the selected candidate with a comprehensive understanding of the business, fostering their growth into an outstanding business professional, not just an accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting tasks to support month-end and year-end financial closures.
  • Conduct research, prepare, and enter journal entries for various operating entities and partnerships.
  • Perform account analysis for multiple operating entities and partnerships.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Prepare necessary monthly and quarterly state and local filings/reporting.
  • Analyze, prepare, and/or review reconciliations for bank accounts and inter-company accounts.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements and operational analyses for divisions and affiliated companies.
  • Handle monthly sales and use tax and annual business privilege tax filings as required.
  • Oversee monthly/annual vehicle registration and licensing for the truck and equipment fleet.
  • Audit and review information from divisions/affiliates both on-site and at corporate headquarters to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage specialty billing and reporting tasks for operating entities.
  • Collaborate with division and corporate personnel to identify, implement, and enhance processes and internal controls.
  • Monitor insurance and workers' compensation costs.
  • Provide support as needed during annual audits.
  • Maintain necessary files and records.
  • Engage in special projects and additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in public or private accounting; manufacturing experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly organized and motivated to succeed, with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software is advantageous.
