Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties and responsibilities involving the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports for the Human Resources Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized office work requiring knowledge of DWIHN policies and procedures.
  • Process and maintain personnel records and reports, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Interact with job applicants, staff, and external agencies, providing information and support as needed.
  • Assist with creating and disseminating HR correspondence, including emails, letters, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain confidential information/files, ensuring compliance with DWIHN policies and procedures.
  • Respond to HR inquiries and requests, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Track HR actions and correspondence within the HR office, ensuring efficient communication and record-keeping.
  • Compose and send standard acknowledgments and follow-up letters on a scheduled basis.
  • Act as a liaison between the Director of Human Resources, the Administrative Team, and DWIHN staff, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Develop policies and procedures related to administrative and operational functions, ensuring compliance with DWIHN policies and procedures.
  • Work with management departments to resolve issues related to operations and administration, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct independent research projects, gathering and analyzing data to inform HR decisions.
  • Develop and prepare informational documents, including correspondence, presentations, graphs, and charts, for the Director of Human Resources.
  • Assist with coordinating internal and external meetings, conference calls, and other engagements, conferences, and activities for the Director of Human Resources.
  • Create documents for submission to internal departments and external agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DWIHN policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate internal and external meetings, performing work activities related to said meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Respond to stakeholder inquiries, developing a tracking and monitoring mechanism for response to these inquiries.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition and effective integration into the team.
  • Assist with maintaining employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with HR recruiting activities, supporting the recruitment and hiring process.
  • Assist DWIHN HR staff with clerical and administrative functions for benefits administration, labor relations administration, and other HR-related tasks.
  • Assist with HR Training and Development activities, supporting the development of HR staff and the organization as a whole.
  • Assist with DWIHN compensation activities, ensuring compliance with DWIHN policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced HR environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Five (5) years of professional experience performing human resource duties and responsibilities
  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field may be substituted for required experience
  • Associate's Degree from a recognized college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field may be substituted for up to two years of required experience
  • Valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record
Working Conditions

Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval. Currently, this position is primarily a remote position.
