Spacecraft Power Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Spacecraft Power Systems Engineer to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing spacecraft power systems that enable our missions to explore the universe.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of spacecraft power systems, including power generation, storage, and distribution
- Design and develop power systems for space missions, including solar arrays, batteries, and power conditioning units
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power systems with other spacecraft systems
- Perform system-level testing and validation of power systems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 7-15 years of experience in spacecraft power systems design and development
- Experience with power system simulation and modeling tools
- Strong understanding of spacecraft power system architectures and technologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with primary power regulation or distribution hardware
- Experience with alternative spacecraft power sources, such as nuclear sources
- TS/SCI Security Clearance
