**Job Summary**
Springfield Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist - Telecom to facilitate patient access services by managing incoming calls, assisting clinic customers at first point of contact, and streamlining clinic-wide communications.
Key Responsibilities- **Answer Incoming Calls**: Respond to all incoming telephone calls to the clinic, identify the caller's needs, and route the call to the proper department with efficiency and accuracy.
- **Knowledge of Clinic Operations**: Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the organization, including the locations of departments, satellite locations, and hours of operation for 350+ providers.
- **Communication and Paging**: Perform overhead paging and maintain open communication between personnel and departments during emergency or code situations.
- **24-Hour Answering Service**: Provide 24-hour answering service to all clinic providers, administration, IT, facilities management, and other departments and offices.
- **Research and Data Entry**: Perform research for management and TeleNurse Intake duties, including identifying patients requesting TeleNurse services, locating patients in the EHR and Triage system, and verifying patient information.
- **Emergency Call Routing**: Route emergency calls to the office nurse/TeleNurse in accordance with emergency procedures.
- **Customer Service**: Adhere to patient service standards and maintain a positive attitude and professional behavior in working to achieve departmental goals.
- **Continuing Education**: Responsible for continuing education and adhering to appropriate workflow processes.
- **Incident Reporting**: Report any workflow problems or complaints to the Manager.
- **Compliance**: Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
- **OSHA Training**: Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training and accomplishments as required per policy.
- **Code of Conduct**: Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
- **Education**: High School graduate or GED required.
- **Experience**: Minimum of one (1) year of medical office and/or phone experience preferred.
- **Typing Skills**: Proficient and accurate typing skills required.
- **Medical Terminology**: Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- **Deductive Reasoning**: Deductive reasoning.
- **Pressure Management**: Ability to work under pressure with accuracy.
- **Attendance**: Excellent attendance in previous work environment.
- **Computer Skills**: Demonstrates intermediate computer skills and knowledge of computer software programs.
- **Communication Skills**: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
**Office Setting**: Office type environment requiring extended periods of sitting.
