Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative - Outpatient Therapy to join our team at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon. This is a part-time, 0.60 FTE, day position with a competitive salary range of $22.14 – $29.90.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification.
- Act as a clinical liaison with physician practices, interacting with pre-visit services.
- Pre-register/register patients with accurate patient demographic and financial data.
- Collect patient balances, co-payment, co-insurance, or other payment types.
- Verify coverage and ensure all insurance requirements are met, as well as obtaining all prior authorization and/or referrals as appropriate prior to patient arrival.
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Assist with departmental coverage as needed.
- Manage daily appointment schedules, which may include reminder calls and calling all referrals.
- May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment.
- Manage chart creation, including all necessary forms, chart note copying for specific insurers, and discharging charts.
- Minimum of 1 year of medical office or related customer service experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred).
- Ability to manage conflict effectively and professionally.
- Excellent time management skills, with an emphasis on meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
- Good customer service skills and good interpersonal skills.
