Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is a critical role that requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of insurance carriers and medical terminology. This individual will facilitate the patient's entrance into any Mercy facility, ensuring accurate data is obtained and populated into the patient record.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate patient registration, scheduling, and benefit verification
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient data
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and hospital staff
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal and state regulations
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of clerical experience and customer service experience preferred
  • High School diploma required; some college helpful
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
