Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, patient-focused and detail-oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing set processes and protocols, working cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, delivering excellent customer service and adhering to Lean processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients as they arrive and manage wait times
  • Complete check-in and check-out tasks, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copying required documents
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issue receipts
  • Manage the cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed
  • Manage medical records, including maintaining, filing/scanning, and preparing for schedules
  • Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, process requests for medical records release and maintain appropriate logs, etc
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1 + years of customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of Medical terms
  • Beginner of computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
