Job Overview

Rocket Software is a leading provider of technology solutions to help businesses run their critical infrastructure, business processes, and data. We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineering Leader to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Execution: Communicate the defined sales strategy and operational model to the Sales Engineering team, monitor, and enforce its implementation.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with global sales leaders to deliver the defined strategy and operational model, ensuring seamless coordination across regions.
  • Team Management: Effectively manage the Sales Engineering team to avoid knowledge gaps and coverage issues, tracking utilization and resolving resourcing conflicts as necessary.
  • Resource Sharing: Collaborate with the global Sales Engineering team to share resources, ensuring overall sales goals are met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor, improve, and develop the Sales Engineering team, both locally and as part of the global team.
  • Sales Support: Support major and strategic sales opportunities, engaging relevant Rocket team members as needed, and escalating to senior management when appropriate.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control the budget and expense management for the Sales Engineering team.
Requirements
  • Experience: 15+ years of sales engineering or related work experience.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading a team of pre-sales engineers.
  • Tech Expertise: Expertise in running regionally distributed teams.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Ability to be proactive and self-sufficient.
  • Customer Interaction: Experience dealing with customers of differing sizes in a pre-sales setting.
  • Salesforce: Ability to use Salesforce effectively.
  • Sales Methodologies: Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Force Management and Solution Selling.
  • Objection Handling: Demonstrated ability to handle objections and think on your feet.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with and gain input from multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Solution Explanation: Capacity to explain technical solutions to business-focused customers.
  • Consultative Selling: Experience in consultative selling of complex services.
  • Leadership by Example: History of leading by example.
  • High-Growth Environment: Experience working in a high growth technology company is a plus but not required.
  • Project Leadership: Track record of project leadership and successful completion.
  • Indirect Sales: Experience operating in an indirect sales environment.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $231,312 - $289,139 per year. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including extensive paid time off programs, healthcare coverage options, retirement savings, life and disability coverage, leadership and skills training opportunities, and two paid work days for off-site training.
