Job Description:

The Senior Director, Sales Engineering plays a crucial role in driving the sales of Rocket Software's products and services. As a senior member of the Go-To-Market team, this individual will be responsible for coordinating regional Sales Engineers to develop strategies that enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate defined sales strategies and operational models to Sales Engineering teams, ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Collaborate with global sales leaders to execute defined strategies and operational models.
  • Effectively manage the Sales Engineering team to prevent knowledge gaps and coverage issues, tracking utilization and resolving resourcing conflicts as necessary.
  • Facilitate resource sharing among the global Sales Engineering team to meet overall sales goals.
  • Continuously monitor, improve, and develop the Sales Engineering team locally and globally.
  • Support major and strategic sales opportunities, engaging relevant Rocket team members as needed and escalating to senior management when appropriate.
  • Monitor and control budget and expense management.
  • Gather customer feedback on product performance, including comparisons with competitors, missing functionality, market shifts, and other valuable insights.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in sales engineering or related fields.
  • Proven track record of leading pre-sales engineers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing regionally distributed teams.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Experience working with customers of various sizes in a pre-sales setting.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and sales methodologies like Force Management and Solution Selling.
  • Excellent objection-handling skills and ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Capacity to collaborate with multiple teams and disciplines, gaining input and resources as needed.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to business-focused customers.
  • History of consultative selling complex services.
  • Leadership by example and experience working in high-growth technology companies.
  • Track record of project leadership and successful completion.
  • Indirect sales environment experience is advantageous.

Salary Range:

$231,312 - $289,139 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
