This role is integral to a collaborative team dedicated to upholding the hospital's cleanliness standards, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and infection prevention.
The Environmental Services Technician is tasked with demonstrating expertise in a variety of cleaning methods and maintaining adequate supply levels across patient, staff, office, clinic, surgical, and visitor areas.
Proficiency in advanced cleaning procedures is essential, particularly in sensitive areas such as Surgery, Labor & Delivery, NICU, and Emergency Rooms, especially during shifts that require versatility across multiple locations.
Interactions with patients, visitors, and staff may vary in frequency and intensity.
The technician consistently exhibits skill and knowledge in the safe application of cleaning agents, equipment, and infection control protocols to meet the department's quality benchmarks.
Competence in the safe handling and disposal of medical waste, including hazardous, regulated, infectious, recyclable, and regular waste, is crucial.
Additionally, the role requires familiarity with computer systems, as frequent usage is necessary.
Required Qualifications:
1 year of experience in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational training and certification are advantageous.
1 year of experience in housekeeping or custodial roles within healthcare, long-term care, or hospitality settings.
