Senior Environmental Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Planner to join our team at Herrera Environmental Consultants. As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will play a key role in leading environmental planning tasks and projects, including Environmental Impact Statements, comprehensive plans, permitting, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead environmental planning tasks and projects, including Environmental Impact Statements, comprehensive plans, permitting, and more.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables and stellar client service.
  • Prepare and manage NEPA and SEPA documents and supporting plans.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to develop environmental planning documents, including comprehensive plans, land use plans, and climate adaptation and resiliency plans.
  • Draft regulatory compliance reports and technical memos.
  • Support permitting efforts for natural resources and the built environment.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of proposals.
  • Research and apply jurisdictional requirements, codes, and policies.
  • Adhere to and drive QA/QC processes and programs.
  • Interface with clients, attend project and public meetings, and participate in interviews.
  • Develop community engagement plans.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in environmental planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental studies, urban planning, or similar area of focus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with public and private clients.
  • Experience in the consulting industry.

  • This position is salaried and exempt from overtime; the annual salary range is $103,592 – $146,028.
