Job Summary:
Piedmont HealthCare is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the safe operation of highly complex systems and equipment, including electronic/pneumatic environmental controls, fan powered boxes, and auxiliary equipment.
- Operate and maintain chillers, BAS controls, pump operations, water treatment programs, air handler units, VAVs, walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigerators, ice machines, and boiler operations.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, and replacing filters and parts as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or system malfunctions, and take corrective action to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other facilities staff to ensure that all systems are functioning properly and efficiently.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational school graduate preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience as an HVAC technician, with a minimum of two (2) years of commercial/healthcare HVAC/HVAC BAS experience or graduation from a BAS program.
- Conditioned Air Georgia State license (Non-Restricted, or Restricted) and EPA-Universal Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of a vocational school or equivalent training program.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment and potentially hazardous materials. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols.
