The Process Improvement Specialist II plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of a comprehensive business process enhancement strategy. This position acts as a change agent, fostering a culture of waste reduction by evaluating business process effectiveness and executing plans to minimize costs, streamline operations, and improve overall customer satisfaction.

This role is integral to our cross-functional team within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess proven Lean experience across various processes from order to delivery. A self-motivated individual with a passion for continuous improvement, strong facilitation skills, and a proactive approach to achieving results is essential.

As a project leader, you will facilitate kaizen events and value stream mapping sessions with teams that may be new to Lean methodologies. Your ability to influence and inspire project teams across multiple departments and locations will be critical. Additionally, you will manage several enterprise-wide Continuous Improvement projects from inception through to the sustainability of improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop, implement, and sustain an Enterprise Continuous Improvement Strategy that promotes a CI mindset throughout the organization and delivers measurable enhancements in business performance.
  • Lead strategic Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and Quick Hit projects from conception to execution, coordinating cross-functional resources and communicating outcomes across the organization.
  • Analyze multiple scenarios to identify optimal solutions for achieving future objectives, with a solid understanding of the financial implications of these scenarios.
  • Develop and implement action plans, monitor project progress, and establish metrics to report on achievements and results, including executive-level updates and best practice sharing.
  • Ensure that changes are fully integrated through follow-up, control, and sustainability measures.
  • Design and deliver Lean training to all organizational levels as required, enhancing the skills of functional leaders and associates through hands-on engagement and mentorship in Lean management tools.
  • Implement Lean tools such as Kanban, Visual Management, Pull systems, Root Cause Analysis, and 5-Why Analysis.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives involving various organizational levels, including manufacturing, procurement, sales, marketing, engineering, and distribution.
  • Foster a culture of change that encourages questioning the status quo and taking calculated risks.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to identify root causes of issues, implement temporary countermeasures, and develop permanent solutions to eliminate identified challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Five or more years of experience in business process design and continuous improvement initiatives; strong business management and process management skills.
  • Exceptional project management abilities with a proven track record of successful execution.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility, influence project teams, and persuade professionals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean principles, including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Communication Tools, and Problem Solving.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills to comprehend and analyze complex business processes.
  • Advanced data analysis skills in MS Excel and/or Minitab.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Lean Certification.
