Course Materials Management Coordinator

Position Overview

The University of New Mexico Bookstore is in search of a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join the Course Materials department. This role demands strong collaboration skills, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional customer service abilities, alongside a capacity to navigate the dynamic landscape of course materials.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the coordination of the acquisition and oversight of course materials and services intended for resale by the University Bookstore. Key duties include:
  • Engaging with external vendors and customers to ascertain product requirements and availability.
  • Overseeing and coordinating merchandise orders, including receipt and return processes.
  • Identifying and resolving procurement challenges and assisting customers with specific product inquiries and ordering.


This management role encompasses all facets of student employee oversight, including hiring, scheduling, training, and work allocation. Additionally, the coordinator will support the online order fulfillment process across various locations. Responsibilities also include managerial duties related to opening and closing operations, with some evening, weekend, and holiday work required throughout the year.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience directly related to the specified duties.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn reconciliation and reporting systems.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in resolving order and customer service issues.
  • Experience in hiring and training student associates.

Additional Information

Official transcripts, high school diploma, or GED certificate will be required upon hire.

Employment Type: Regular - Full-Time
Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: Hourly rate of $22.84
