Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Sales Floor Coordinators, the Retail Sales Specialist is accountable for both retail and wholesale sales activities. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and comprehensive product knowledge.

Supervision

Receives direction from the Sales Floor Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Warmly welcomes customers and fosters a positive shopping experience.
  • Proactively promotes the sale of available inventory.
  • Efficiently processes all sales transactions utilizing Point-of-Sale systems, including cash handling, check verification, credit card processing, and data entry verification.
  • Communicates policies and procedures clearly to ensure customer understanding.
  • Guides customers to the appropriate departments for resolution of inquiries beyond the scope of the sales associate.
  • May handle phone inquiries, maintain cleanliness in restrooms, wash floors and windows, prepare invoices, and ensure accurate transaction applications.
  • Responsible for restocking and merchandising products, including affixing price labels as directed.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace, ensuring the presentation of merchandise is appealing.
  • Regularly cleans and organizes refrigerators, freezers, counters, sinks, and displays.
  • Ensures availability of brochures and informative materials for customer reference.
  • Performs various job-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to specific instructions and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with the public and colleagues.
  • Capable of analyzing and resolving issues as they arise.
  • High School diploma or GED Certificate is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Must possess a friendly demeanor and enjoy interacting with customers.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent.
  • At least two years of retail experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Post-offer, pre-employment, and random drug screening are required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any additional licenses or certifications as determined by management.
Working Conditions

This position is primarily performed indoors, with a schedule that includes weekdays and weekends. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and holidays, is essential. The role requires normal physical dexterity, including walking, climbing stairs, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, and lifting as necessary.
