Merchandising Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:
This role necessitates spending at least 60% of the time in the field within the designated business unit.
Facilitates pilot and testing initiatives, which includes preparing and distributing communication materials, as well as monitoring results and relaying feedback to the relevant teams.
Provides local insights to Hub leadership, leveraging marketplace knowledge.
Acts as a customer advocate across the category, collaborating with Operations to ensure support.
Assists in marketing efforts; ensures Point of Purchase (POP) materials are effectively implemented across the business unit.
Leads the local execution of national schematic strategies while considering local product assortments.
Coordinates and oversees reset teams in all operational aspects.
Takes ownership of local product launches.
Collaborates with local partners and technical teams to resolve customer-facing challenges.
Builds and maintains positive relationships among the Hub, Spoke, and Operational teams.
Mentors and guides operational staff in merchandising product assortments that align with Hub initiatives, market trends, and seasonal customer demands. Provides support to the operations team regarding optimal merchandising practices at the site level.
Undertakes additional site merchandising-related tasks as assigned.
Engages in collaboration and support for Country and HUB activities related to the category.
Works with the Hub on product forecasting and distribution strategies.
Monitors local competitor activities and provides appropriate recommendations.
Oversees local store layouts, category space allocation, and product adjacency based on Hub recommendations.
Suggests product, service, and policy modifications to the Hub based on evaluation of results and competitive trends.
Local Business Unit Programming:
Selects vendors, negotiates pricing and terms for products, and develops schematics by applying category management principles in alignment with HUB strategic goals.
Enhances sales revenue through the development of promotional concepts and overlay programs; formulates category plans.
Establishes and tracks gross margins by forecasting and setting annual sales targets, projecting expected sales volume and profit for both existing and new products, and determining placement and promotional strategies.
Projects and evaluates category sales and gross profit outcomes by maintaining records of item costs, retail prices, and gross margin figures. Manages local vendor relationships by providing direction, guidance, and information, while addressing any concerns.
Maintains professional and technical expertise by attending educational workshops, reading industry publications, and participating in professional networks.
Contributes to team success by achieving defined Financial and Key Result Area targets in accordance with Company Plan guidelines.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in advertising, business, or a related field is preferred. Other combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the requirements may be considered. A minimum of five years of experience in merchandising is preferred, including three years in a management role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) is required. Up to 60% travel may be necessary. A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.
