Job Summary

The Research Billing Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of research participant billing with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and policies. This position involves a detailed review of research billing to guarantee adherence to sponsor agreements, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform research billing reviews in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to clinical trial billing.
  • Stay current with changes in billing regulations and guidelines affecting clinical research.
  • Conduct pre-billing reviews of clinical trial charges to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Identify and report compliance issues and assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Provide training and support to clinical research staff on billing compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of billing compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with clinical research coordinators, investigators, finance, and legal departments to ensure accurate billing practices.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and integrity within the clinical research billing process.
  • Identify opportunities for improving billing compliance processes and systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical trial billing, healthcare billing compliance, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical trial billing regulations and guidelines.
  • Understanding of clinical trial lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of billing and compliance software systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Remote work with occasional travel to on-site location for team meetings/team building activities.

Sits, stands, and walks intermittently throughout the day.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
