Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at Lifespan Physician Group Inc. in Providence, RI. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining third-party billing records, researching and analyzing delinquent claims, and resolving problems related to reimbursement and claim submission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze delinquent third-party payer claims, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial and non-commercial carriers, to verify patient eligibility and adjust and submit claims as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and third-party payers, explaining insurance coverage and researching problems to correct errors using accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Maintain and update patient demographic information for proper billing to insurance carriers.
  • Follow up on submitted claims, monitor unpaid claim reports, and initiate tracers as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries from third-party payers and individual insurance carriers in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • 2 years' experience in third-party medical billing, preferably in specialty services.
  • Solid working knowledge of third-party billing, ICD-10, and CPT codes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high level of organizational skills, self-motivation, and strong problem-solving skills.
Education
  • High School diploma required.
