This part-time student assistant position is available in the Georgia Peanut Breeding Program at the University of Georgia's Coastal Plain Experiment Station, Tifton Campus. The successful candidate will assist with planting and harvesting during peak workload periods.
Responsibilities- Follow oral instructions closely from technical staff while maintaining genetic purity and sample identity.
- Lift, stand, bend, climb, and work outside in all weather conditions.
- Operate various farm machines or small-plot equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Knowledge of operating farm equipment is desirable.
Working ConditionsThis position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and may involve lifting, standing, and bending. The successful candidate must be able to drive to perform job-related duties.
BenefitsThis is a part-time position with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The position is available for students who are enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
