Job Summary

Prisma Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Ensure imaging quality meets quality control standards and follow departmental protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service, explaining procedures to patients and introducing yourself and department.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized environment, stocking work areas with linens and supplies as needed.
  • Comply with departmental downtime protocols and charge procedures and supplies accurately.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts with other healthcare departments and promote intra, inter, and external communications.
  • Maintain ethical standards of relationships and communications, ensuring smooth handoffs and follow-through on instructions.
  • Operate PACS systems appropriately, verifying studies before sending to be read.
Requirements
  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • BLS certification.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment.
  • Data entry and mathematical skills.
  • Patient equipment knowledge, including vitals, suction, and defib.
