Job Summary

Lexington Medical Center is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating sonographic equipment and performing diagnostic examinations using sonography. You will also assist the Radiologist with invasive procedures in the acute care setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician following department protocols.
  • Coordinate with other staff to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team, assuring appropriate patient care is provided.
  • Address problems of patient care as they arise and make decisions to appropriately resolve the problems.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area and report equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member.
  • Participate in the maintenance of department ACR accreditation.
Requirements
  • BLS certification or certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - In the absence of an RDMS at hire, the candidate must have an Associate's Degree in Allied Health or Bachelor's Degree plus successful completion of one year of formal Diagnostic Medical Program and be registry eligible.
