Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at Prisma Health. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Ensure imaging quality meets quality control standards and stay up-to-date with organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, explaining procedures to patients, and maintaining a sanitary and organized environment.
  • Operate PACS systems, verify studies, and communicate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain ethical standards, resolve scheduling conflicts, and promote intra, inter, and external communications.
  • Participate in mentoring newly hired sonographers, instructing sonography students, and evaluating student progress.
Requirements
  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Must obtain one or more of the following ARDMS credentials: Abdomen, OBGYN, and Pediatric.
  • BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier).
  • Data entry.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Patient equipment - vitals, suction, defib.
  • ARRT in Radiology - Preferred.
  • PACS experience - Preferred.
  • EMR experience.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
