Accounting Manager

Our Financial Planning Specialist is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the financial, accounting, and administrative activities of the facility. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or four to ten years of related experience and/or training.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares and submits monthly financial statements and supporting schedules that identify actual, budget, variance and over/under based on the plan.
- Monitors and manages property cash flow and decides the appropriate timing of issuing payment to vendors.
- Recommends to management the implementation of policies, procedures, processes and controls based on continual analysis of current accounting processes.
- Establishes accounting protocols and work flows for the property based on property needs, ensuring compliance with Troon Golf accounting standards.
- Ensures collection and payment of applicable local, state, and federal taxes.
- Manages both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to include but not limited to: processing invoices, preparing statements, making payments, reconciliation, record keeping, and collections in accordance with the Club’s bylaws.
- Reconciles and audits petty cash, general bank account and investment accounts.
- Provides excellent customer service to members; regularly helps answer billing and payment inquiries.
- Implements and adheres to policies and procedures for the Accounting function, including compliance of all company accounting standards.
- Assists CFO/Assistant General Manager in preparing and monitoring annual budget, monitoring revenue goals as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) reports.
- Oversees accounting and administrative controls so as to safeguard the assets of the company by reducing theft as well as internal fraud.
- Responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
