Your Mission

As a Senior Software Engineer at Census, you will collaborate closely with the founders and the engineering team to design and scale a robust data platform capable of handling billions of records.

Our team comprises seasoned engineers with extensive industry backgrounds from companies like Amazon, Google, and Dropbox, alongside significant startup experience, including six former YC founders.

Your Responsibilities
  • Contribute to all facets of our technology stack, which includes Rails, Typescript, Vue, Heroku, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with our product team to conceptualize and develop new features.
  • Help establish our early culture and be part of building a truly exceptional team.
  • Engage as a cooperative member of our sprint process, participating in bi-weekly sprint planning and daily virtual stand-ups.
  • Maintain a healthy work-life balance; we prioritize building an outstanding product while fostering a fun, family-friendly environment.
  • Familiarize yourself with our unique terminology, such as 'do nothing', 'done done', and 'ponies'.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Possesses the ability to build solutions end-to-end; our engineers are responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining their code.
  • Is proficient with data and backend systems while being comfortable working with UI components.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or has equivalent experience.
  • Thrives in ambiguous settings, working directly with clients and making impactful decisions that foster trust and significantly influence the business.
Compensation

Salary range: $180,000 - $230,000
