Position Summary:

Oversee the driver team to ensure timely pickups and deliveries while prioritizing safety, reporting directly to the Terminal Manager. Leverage our systems to process customer orders, relay dispatch information to drivers, and keep clients updated on any potential service disruptions. Clearly communicate special instructions and collaborate with drivers to enhance performance metrics, including fuel efficiency and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a professional yet meaningful rapport with each driver to ensure their needs are met.
  • Effectively schedule and assign loads to optimize operations.
  • Maintain real-time updates on all daily activities within the dispatch system.
  • Confirm equipment availability with the maintenance team.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with customers.
  • Engage with drivers and the terminal manager to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Champion safety initiatives by implementing the Target Zero program.
  • Uphold a positive environment among drivers, staff, and supervisors.
  • Encourage a constructive attitude with clients.
  • Review and manage driver electronic logs.
  • Coordinate equipment for all preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
  • Accurately handle driver documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager.


Qualifications:
Applicants must be team-oriented leaders with outstanding communication abilities. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in organizing, directing, and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, complex environment. Intermediate skills in PC usage, internet navigation, email, and general computer operations are required. Previous experience with TMW, TMT, Peoplenet, or similar electronic logging systems is advantageous.


Education and Experience:
A high school diploma and a minimum of one year of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the tanker industry is preferred. Understanding of equipment utilization and allocation, along with knowledge of DOT regulations, is essential.


Work Environment:
A fast-paced terminal environment in the transportation sector.


Work Hours and Availability:
Designated work location at the office or terminal for an average of 45 to 50 hours per week. Must be available and on call during off-duty hours. Generally off on weekends but must be ready for emergency situations.

  • Deliveries are scheduled and executed punctually.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team or independently.
  • Maintain positive relationships with drivers.
  • 100% compliance with all safety and legal regulations.
  • Accurate tracking, maintenance, and reporting of equipment.
  • All internal and external reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Adherence to all company policies and standard operating procedures.
