About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our institutional research and assessment department, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to provide actionable feedback for improving educational and work experiences at Macalester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decision Support: Provide data-driven insights to inform policy decisions, program effectiveness, and student flourishing across divisions and departments within the College.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct quantitative, qualitative, or mixed research methods to assess student learning and program effectiveness, and to support institutional decision-making.
  • Survey Research: Design, administer, and analyze surveys to gather insights from campus stakeholders.
  • Data Visualization: Develop interactive dashboards and reports to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Equity and Inclusion: Engage in research practices that promote strengths-based frameworks and contribute to campus-wide efforts to further equity and inclusion goals.
  • Security and Confidentiality: Maintain the security and confidentiality of all records and documents consumed or produced on behalf of IR&A or the College.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Proficient with SPSS, R, or similar quantitative analysis tools, and experience with qualitative methods.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including experience handling multiple requests from stakeholders and documenting processes.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex data insights in non-technical language.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of graduate/professional experience in higher education, social science, or a related field.

  • Compensation: Competitive salary range of $60,000-$61,350, depending on experience.
