POSITION OVERVIEW
The main duties involve assisting the Emergency Housing program at St. Matthew's House by executing daily responsibilities as outlined in the program protocols.
The ideal candidate must be organized and maintain strong personal and professional boundaries. Proficiency in conflict resolution is essential, along with the ability to demonstrate these skills effectively. Support Staff members should exhibit excellent verbal and written communication abilities. A positive demeanor and a willingness to collaborate with team members are crucial.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Available to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Accurately documents information in the Case Management System (CMS).
- Regularly checks to ensure that residents' living spaces are well-maintained and adhere to Shelter standards.
- Conducts random bed checks to confirm the presence of all residents during overnight shifts.
- Performs routine security inspections of the facility to ensure safety and security.
- Administers random drug screenings for residents as required.
- Organizes hygiene supplies into designated storage areas.
- Creates hygiene kits while managing front desk responsibilities.
- Facilitates the discharge process for residents, ensuring accurate information is provided.
- Safely stores personal belongings of discharged residents according to program guidelines.
- Understands the phone system and is capable of transferring calls.
- Collaborates with other staff members to ensure all assigned tasks are completed.
- Effectively screens individuals seeking entry to the shelter after hours.
- Treats all residents with dignity and maintains appropriate boundaries.
- Familiar with all guidelines in the Shelter Handbook and responsible for holding residents accountable.
- Shares the Gospel message with residents when opportunities arise.
- Engages in prayer with residents and staff as opportunities present themselves.
- Completes all responsibilities in alignment with the core values of St. Matthew's House.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in addiction and mental health services is advantageous.
Confidentiality: Must handle highly confidential information and be knowledgeable about HIPAA regulations.
Mental/Visual Demands: The role requires normal mental and visual capabilities.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for at least 4 hours at a time and lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be capable of bending or kneeling.
Work Environment: Standard office setting.
