Job Summary

Matrix Providers is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in the Family Practice Clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient medical records and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and patient care.
  • Transport patients to other clinical areas as needed.
  • Verify medication and dosage before administering to patients.
  • Obtain lab and x-ray results, and notify patients accordingly.
  • Answer phone calls and transcribe accurate messages.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and report any issues to management.
  • Assist with patient flow and provide direct patient care as directed.
  • Operate medical equipment, such as blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, and EKG machines.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and start IVs.
  • Prepare patients for X-rays and instruct them on medication administration.
  • Notify patients of lab results and other test outcomes.
  • Participate in inventory procedures and coordinate with other departments to provide comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, American Registry of Medical Assistant, or National Center for Competency Testing.
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting.
  • Two letters of recommendation from practicing providers, supervisors, or program administrators.
