Job Opportunity: Certified Medical Assistant - Family Practice Clinic

Matrix Providers is seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at the Family Practice Clinic located at the Naval Hospital Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced family practice clinic setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient medical records and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and patient care
  • Transport patients to other clinical areas as needed
  • Check charts for provider signatures and patient diagnoses
  • Administer medication to patients under the supervision of a healthcare provider
  • Obtain lab and x-ray results and communicate with patients
  • Answer phone calls and transcribe accurate messages
  • Ensure equipment is safe and functional
  • Assist with patient flow and provide direct patient care as directed
  • Operate medical equipment, including automatic blood pressure monitors and EKG machines
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests
  • Prepare patients for X-rays and instruct patients about medications
  • Notify patients about lab results and other tests
  • Participate in inventory procedures and coordinate with other departments
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or registration by the American Medical Technologists
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting
  • Ability to provide two letters of recommendation from practicing providers or supervisors
