Position Overview

The role of a Cashier involves welcoming and thanking every customer who visits the store. Cashiers must be adept in all facets of the Cavender's Boot City cashiering system and well-versed in the documentation related to each transaction. Additionally, Cashiers are tasked with maintaining a tidy and organized store environment, and must answer phone calls with enthusiasm and professionalism. They will assist management with various responsibilities such as stocking, visual merchandising, special orders, and general housekeeping duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embrace and promote the "Cavender's Culture" while upholding our Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Execute cashiering duties with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly workspace.
  • Understand and adhere to CBC policies and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable about all CBC cashiering transactions, including:
    • Cash Transactions
    • Check Transactions
    • Non-taxable Transactions
    • Credit Card Transactions
    • Voids
    • Exchanges
  • Record all sales and monetary exchanges in the register at the time of the transaction.
  • Assist in stocking merchandise and organizing the store as necessary.
  • Recommend potential add-on purchases to customers and promote store specials.
  • Arrive at work punctually, well-groomed, and dressed appropriately.
  • Maintain a security-conscious attitude at all times.
  • Provide informed responses to phone inquiries regarding sales, promotions, store location, pricing, and inventory.
  • Stay informed about ongoing sales promotions (items, prices, etc.).
  • Practice inventory management on boots.
  • Check for mismatched boots.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding commission sales and validate all sales tickets.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to understand necessary actions to achieve company goals (e.g., ADS / UPT's / Company or Vendor PM's).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to lift or lower objects regularly during shifts.
  • Capacity to comprehend basic instructions.
  • Ability to interpret various documents.
  • Capability to apply abstract principles to complex tasks.
  • Ability to understand and respond effectively to verbal communication.
  • Skill in analyzing information and preparing reports.
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • Must be able to remain alert during assigned work hours.
  • Availability to work on weekends is required.
