Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Accountant to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth cost accounting data reviews for allowability and allocability
  • Perform treasury management activities, including operating accounts and medical benefits trust
  • Prepare balance sheet and other account reconciliations
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve reconciling differences
  • Prepare internal and external audit documentation
  • Serve as a liaison between accounting, financial planning, and business teams
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in general accounting
  • Strong competency in GAAP, CAS, and FAR standards/regulations
  • Self-starter mentality, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's degree in Accounting
  • Experience in a DoD contracting environment
  • Understanding of APL business systems, including Oracle General Ledger and Data Warehouse applications
