Job Summary

Deer Country Farm & Lawn, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agricultural Equipment Sales Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling new and used agricultural equipment to customers in a defined sales area or product group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Customer Service: Represent the Company for the sale of machinery to customers, providing product expertise and support to existing and new customers.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the Dealership.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive activity/products and timely communicate to leadership.
  • Customer Acquisition: Actively seek competitive customers, attempting to maximize conversion.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain all customer information in assigned territory for sales management.
  • Administrative Tasks: Adhere to the defined sales process, including call reports and follow-up after the sale in a timely manner.
  • Operational Responsibilities: Responsibly maintain and operate assigned company vehicles and equipment if applicable.
  • Event Planning: Assist with the preparation and execution of customer events and conduct equipment field demonstrations.
  • Financial Knowledge: Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
  • Professional Development: Attend applicable sales meetings, training events, and seminars.
  • Equipment Evaluation: Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes.
  • Customer Consultation: Consult with customers on general farming practices and the correct equipment to perform them.
  • Communication Skills: Answer telephone inquiries and complete all sales orders and documentation promptly, thoroughly, courteously, and accurately.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrate a genuine concern for the company as a whole by promoting teamwork and maintaining a positive attitude. Exhibit outstanding communication skills and cooperate with other departments and locations within the company.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1+ years of equipment sales experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming or operational practices preferred. Excellent customer relationship skills and ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • License: Valid insurable driver's license.
